At Heritage Moving & Storage, Inc., we not only want to manage your move, we also want to help manage your stress level. Stress can impede your judgment and cause poor decision making at critical times. Our goal as a moving company is to help our Roanoke, Virginia-area customers in achieve a low-stress move. Our first three tips were covered in our previous blog post. Here are the next tips to lower your moving stress.
4. Refrain from drinking alcohol the night before your move and on moving day.
Moving is one of the most stressful things a person can do, and some people use alcohol to cope with stress. But in the case of moving, a clearer head makes for a much better move.
5. Have a back-up plan.
Many things can happen that can affect your moving date such as a delayed closing, a settlement problem, etc. Have an alternate plan ready in case there is a problem. It is better to have an alternate plan thought out ahead of time than to come up with one in a stressful and pressured situation.
6. Treat your movers with respect and kindness.
A good working relationship between the customer, the movers, and the driver can greatly reduce the stress of a move.
